Position Title: Sales Representative
 

Department: Sales (Lighting Fixtures and Systems) Supervisor: VP of Sales

General Description:
• Our lighting rep firm seeks an enthusiastic, self-motivated sales representative to add to our sales force. Sales Reps are responsible for generating and pursuing sales leads, fostering client/vendor relationships, and generating quotations and relevant paperwork to land the sale. The sales representative brings the client from their initial idea to completed lighting project.

Sales Responsibilities:

  • Generate leads, set appointments

  • Answer incoming customer inquires via phone, email, or in person. Provide accurate

    information to all customers, provide requested information/materials, and alternative solutions if necessary. If questions are beyond the scope of the reps knowledge, the rep will offer to research the answer or will have the appropriate person get in contact with the client.

  • Track current leads and research potential customers through use of the sales call log and weekly meetings

  • Maintain and expand client database within the territory

  • Establish strategic relationships with vendors, dealers, distributors, and clients.

  • Attend conferences, seminars, and events as necessary to establish relationships with lighting

    industry professionals and to learn about new products

  • Stay up to date on product lines

  • Learn how products work and how to troubleshoot any potential issues with clients

  • Perform other sales functions including, but not limited to, outbound sales campaigns via

    phone, email, or via the website/social media.

  • Keep media kits filled and ready for visits, and reorder literature as needed to keep media kits

    stocked

  • Ship or deliver demo gear and keep track of demo gear that has been loaned

  • Draft lighting risers and layout drawings in AutoCAD

  • Generate quotations and relevant paperwork

  • Submit lighting packages into ETC Select

  • Complete sales call reports and submit to the VP of sales at end of day

    Miscellaneous Responsibilities:

  • Maintain demo gear inventory

  • Maintain all necessary department records, personal files, and memos

  • Assist other RFnA employees with tasks as necessary

Qualifications:

  • College degree preferred

  • 4 years relevant industry experience in theatrical lighting and/or lighting systems

  • Previous sales or retail experience a plus

Personal Skills:

  • Experienced in Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with AutoCAD or an equivalent computer drafting software such as Vectorworks

  • Individual must be self-motivated and able to assign own tasks

  • Individual must work well as part of a team and add to the office culture

  • Individual must be organized and efficient

  • Individual must be able to communicate clearly and effectively

  • Individual must be willing and able to travel throughout Northern NJ, the lower Hudson Valley,

    and Eastern PA.
